Training Academy
Jefferson County, Iowa
(Coming Soon!) EMS Training Academy
Jefferson County Ambulance Service was established in Oct 2023, following decades of privately-owned and operated ambulance services contracted by the county. In Nov 2024, county residents elected to establish EMS as an essential service and confirmed a tax levy to support and maintain EMS.
Staffing shortages, both internally and regionally, led to the development of training opportunities beyond what is currently offered in the area. This program provides a quality education with complete flexibility for students, at a price that is easily affordable.
This program is a first of its kind in the state of Iowa to provide truly hybrid education at both the EMT and Paramedic levels.
Each class requires a $500 deposit (non-refundable) to secure a spot. The remaining balance is due before the end of the course.
How can we do this? Unlike colleges and universities, we aren’t trying to make a profit, and student aren’t paying a bunch of faculty and administrative staff. The course content was created by the instructors at no cost, because we just love to teach! The tuition goes right back in to the program for supplies and fees.
