Louden Super Track Overhead Carrier

Louden's expertise with Hay Carriers led Louden to produce industrial overhead carriers.  Below is a restored example of a Louden Super Track Overhead Carrier, one of Louden's chief industrial products.

The Louden Super Track Overhead Carrier shown below was acquired from one of the buildings once occupied by the Louden Machinery Company.  The current owner cleaned and painted it, then installed it in his shop.    Scroll down to see how it works.

Louden Machinery Company is credited with the invention and production of the world's first industrial overhead carrier systems.  Originally used in hay and dairy operations, later versions such as this one were adapted to heavy industry.  These larger examples were utilized, for example, by Boeing in the production of large aircraft during World War II.  These units are widely used by many industries.
