Work begins on the new third floor with installation of a steel floor beam. The Assessor's Office construction begins on this new third floor. "Windows" will be built into the new office wall and ceiling so you can view the original stencilling. Photos by Josie Hannes Design
Steel beams were installed to carry the weight of the new third floor area above the courtroom lobby.
The original doors are covered to protect them.
A scaffolding was built to enable work to proceed on the upper part of the courtroom.
Stencilling was restored and molding was repaired/refinished.

The new Assessor's office created on the new third floor. Note the stenciling behind the framing.
A "window" in the new wall, seen at the left side of the photo, will allow the original stencilling to be seen.
Looking through the Assessor's office window to see the stairway and elevator. Since there are no doors into this office, this window will be replaced by an office door.
