Jefferson County Sex Offender Registry
By Iowa Code, the Jefferson Sheriff’s Office must register sex offenders who reside or establish a residence within the county.
Offenders who need to newly register or update their registry information should notify the Civil Office in-person at Jefferson County Law Center.
If you are aware of an offender who has not registered or is not living at their registered address, please contact our office and we will check that they are compliant with Iowa code. Do not take action on your own; contact your local law enforcement office.
If you know of or suspect that a Registered Sex Offender is in violation of the Iowa Sex Offender Registry please contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office directly. Do not take action on your own.

Registration Requirements
Offenders must register with the Sheriff’s Office upon moving to Jefferson County.
Offenders who need to newly register or update their registry information should notify the Civil Office in-person at Jefferson County Law Center during the hours of 8:00a.m. to 3:00pm, Monday – Friday (with the exception of county holidays).
All information, specified by Iowa Code Chapter 692A at the time of initial registration, must be provided and any changes to that information must be reported within five (5) business days.
