Veterans Affairs Description & Duties

Jefferson County Veterans Affairs offers assistance in applying for a wide range of benefits to our veterans, service members and their families–including but not limited to the following:

  • Applying for Federal benefits
  • Applying for State Benefits
  • Obtaining military records
  • Furnishing markers for eligible veteran graves
  • Iowa Veterans Home

Our Mission

To promote awareness and assist eligible Veterans, their families and survivors to receive from the U.S. Federal Government any and all benefits to which they may be entitled to under existing or future laws to be enacted.
